As many as one in three teens will deal with physical, sexual, verbal, or emotional abuse in a relationship.
This is something Amanda herself has personally experienced, she revealed when speaking about her ex to Cosmopoliton magazine. "(He) ended up breaking my heart. I was so hurt. I’m a confident person, but it killed me."
As part of her involvement, Amanda will travel to high schools to speak to youth and raise awareness about the problem.
You can sign the online petition to encourage states to pass laws requiring middle and high schools to teach about healthy relationships.
7,449 people have signed. Won't you be one of them?
Following is a video in which Amanda talks more about the cause and announces she will be working on a new movie next year after "taking the rest of the year off to enjoy being 22."

I really don't like it when people keep using the phrases, " like" and "you know" a lot to try and explain something. It really doesn't get the message out there when people are being distracted by those phrases.
I absolutely love amanda and I love the cause she is doing, but I really wish she would speak more clearly.
Imagine the pressure she must be feeling though. They are counting on her name to raise awareness on a very important issue and even though she probably cares about it a lot, she might worry she may be seen as insincere if she doesn't say the right thing so nerves are perfectly acceptable.
I don't mean to be mean, but Amanda has been in the public eye since she was born. Don't get me wrong, though. I am not trying to put her down in anyway.
But anyways, I cannot believe Amanda is dating that Doug guy from The Hills. She could do so much better.
Amanda is expected to attend this event tomorrow... fans should come by and check it out! :)
