Easy A Clip

Amanda tweeted that Easy A was filmed in June 2009 and that her part is more of a cameo, but she hopes everyone likes it!

I have a funny feeling that Amanda was being modest/joking around (after all, the movie wouldn't be much without her as a main antagonist ;))

Maybe she was originally slated for a larger part, but was a victim of the script-editing ax? I mean, I understand thats it's officially PG-13 now, while the original script was, err, 'not so PG-13';)

Still, I think it's still too early to tell, what with not being available to the general public until Sept. 17.

Oh, and gotta love that Joan Jett cover in the clip, eh?

This looks amazing so far! The only thing is it's not being released in England until October!! I don't think I can wait that long!

I saw a pre-screening of the movie and her part is not a cameo at all. It's a pretty substantial supporting role. She also spent weeks filming for the movie, and her character is seen several times in the trailer. Even Aly Michalka isn't seen in the trailer.

The only thing that could be true is that some of her scenes were cut. But her character is the one who starts the rumor and sets up the events of the movie. I don't know why she would want people to say that it is just a cameo. Maybe since it's her last movie and all people are expecting a knock-out performance, but by saying it's a cameo we won't expect much. But I can say for sure her role is nothing close to a cameo.

(budoka_ch1 from fanhost here)

Just read on IMDB from someone who apparently saw a prescreening that its 'definitely more than a cameo...more like around 20-25 minutes total' (which I think is not bad for, what, a 2-hour movie?). Also heard

*SPOILER*

that her character is less of a villain than somewhat of an enabling antagonist (which would fit in with PG-13, I think). Not quite a carbon copy of Mandy Moore in Saved, but more passive aggressive.

*/SPOILER*

Oh, chicky, stop being so modest! ;)

She's also credited third, and true she's a big star, but not so big that they'd credit her "cameo" role before stars Thomas Haden Church, Lisa Kudrow, Stanley Tucci and Patricia Clarkson. I think she just chose a poor word. You can also tell she's in about 4 scenes based no the trailer alone (hallway chat with Stone, lunch room, prayer circle, and picket line), now unless the editors used all four of Amanda's scenes in the trailer, I'm sure we'll see more of her to come. Also, in the original script Amanda's character was more of a nuissance than an antagonist, and if the (MUCH NEEDED) script changes transformed her into a true-blue antagonist (which they do appear that they have; that whole conversation between Bynes and Stone was not in the draft I read) then I'm sure she'll be the most memorable thing about this film. It looks great, everyone seems on their A-Game.

Sweeet, thanks for your comments budoka, I am really excited for the movie. It sounds like a good supporting role in the vein of Hairspray.

Jay, I believe they are creditied, in the trailer at least, in alphabetical order. But I do agree with what you said about everyone being on their A game. I really hope it leads to a flood of projects for Amanda.
